That part of your question is confusing. As if you hadn't noticed that ASIO and ASIO4ALL are two different things. ASIO is the one that integrated soundcards don't support, and ASIO4ALL is a 'fake' that they do often support. So you can not have input using ASIO and output with ASIO4ALL. If the outputs in the output channel 1 and output channel 2 pull-down menus in the Mandala software say 'Unavailable' when you try to use ASIO4ALL then pull the audio output cable from your computer and relaunch the Mandala software. Set the driver to ASIO4ALL and then your outputs might be 'Available' and you can choose them and replug.
ASIO4ALL problems.I installed Music Creator 5 a few years ago but have not used it much due to problems with my ASIO4ALL driver. I would go back to the original sound driver, but it seems that whenever I try to do this they also do not work. Recently I have been trying to record using Music Creator, and I have been using pre-recorded drums from toontrack EZdrummer. I have hit the road block again, and now ASIO4ALL is getting in the way of my recording. There is no playback when I use ASIO4ALL, and when I check the panel, 'HD Audio Headphone/Speakers' and 'Out: 2x 44.1-192kHz, 24Bits' are marked as unavailable, and they both say 'In use by another application?' And 'MS GS wavetable synth enabled?'
I have looked through all the forums before and have tried everything that has been said - I have checked 'always resample 44.1kHz 48kHz' and have made sure that it was not exclusive. I still get no sound.I desparately need to figure this out, as I need to have a recording done by the end of this semester (December 14th).Thank you in advance! Try it on 44.1 & 16 or 24 bits.If you are on a factory sound card, you probably want to use a driver other then ASIO or ASIO4ALL.A4A doesn't always work. On this Dell lappy, for example, I have been able to get MME to work OK.
But the latency on the midi stuff is not acceptable so I try to stick with audio when I'm not on the Saffire ( ASIO ) interface. The best way is to use an external interface with a USB connection that runs native ASIO drivers.Until then, reset the driver to MME.run the WAVE Profiler. Bit depth 16 sample rate 44.1khz and select the factory card (if that;s what you;re using) as the playback device.Audio should work just fine. Welcome to the forum.Man, it'a been a long time since I tried ASIO4All. So long I forgot what it's supposed to read in the OptionsAudio dialog boxes. In any case, go to OptionsAudio and make sure that everything that is listed ASIO4All is selected and everything that isn't listed ASIO4All is deselected. The MS GS Wavetable synth is the standard MIDI synthesizer in most sound cards. It won't hurt to leave it checked, but most soft synths will sound better. For greatest recording satisfaction, an audio interface designed for recording will be a valuable asset. Thank you all for your quick responses.Guitarhacker: I tried switching to MME and I still got no sound.
I'm not sure what my sound card is as I got this computer three years ago and have never really looked into that, but I will look into that after this. How much did your interface cost?
I would like to get a real ASIO interface and not have to deal with this asio4all stuff anymore.57Gregy: There really isn't a place for me to check or uncheck anything, only a drop'down box where I can select either WDM/KS, WASAPI, ASIO or MME (32bit). After I select that I get more options. Is there something else you are talking about?Gcolbert: I have not tried that, sounds like a very simple solution. I will try right now. If that works, I will be kicking myselfBeagle: When I first got Music creator my friend who has been using it for a while set it up for me, and I am pretty sure she set it up for asio4all, but I'm really not sure.Sorry I couldn't answer your questions fully!
I'm not all that good with this program, or with sound engineering in general. I'm doing the best I canThanks!! Mindbreaker4228Thank you all for your quick responses.Guitarhacker: I tried switching to MME and I still got no sound.

Realtek, soundmax - doesn't matter. They're onboard chips with crappy drivers.look at my website for sounccard recommendations with real native ASIO drivers.57Gregy: There really isn't a place for me to check or uncheck anything, only a drop'down box where I can select either WDM/KS, WASAPI, ASIO or MME (32bit). When you click on the arrow, it lists MME, WDM, WASAPI, ASIO. Click on ASIO and it will show up in the window after the pull down closes.Beagle: When I first got Music creator my friend who has been using it for a while set it up for me, and I am pretty sure she set it up for asio4all, but I'm really not sure.first, after you downloaded ASIO4ALL, what did you do next? ASIO4ALL comes zipped, so it has to be unzipped first, then it has to be installed. Download, unzip, install.THEN make sure after it's installed that you change the driver mode to ASIO like greg was saying above (and like I explained about the drop down menus). Mindbreaker4228I just uninstalled and reinstalled asio4all. The file was an immediate download, no file to unzip.
I opened up music creator again, and there was still nothing in the midi controls dialog box, and in optionsaudio I get 'ASIO4ALL v2 headphone/speakers 1' and 'asio4all v2 HD audio microphone 1.' .still no sound. I will try again after restarting.ASIO4ALL has nothing to do with the MIDI devices. If you don't have a MIDI device connected to the computer then you will not have any MIDI devices to select.when you say 'still no sound' - what are you trying to hear? Are you only trying to hear EZD? How are you trying to hear it? Are you clicking on the kit pieces?
Are you trying to play a MIDI track?are you still getting the error message that the soundcard is in use by another application?
